Job summary

Refinitiv is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a platform engineering team that builds and operates core backend systems powering AI agent platforms. You will stay technically engaged while guiding roadmaps and priorities in partnership with leadership.

The role requires 6+ years in software engineering with direct leadership, strong Python or backend language skills, and expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native development, and observability. Hybrid/onsite options are available.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience leading a team with 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring, and career development.
• Strong Python or other backend language with distributed systems expertise.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, API design, and AWS.
• CI/CD pipeline engineering and release/deployment strategies.
• IaC practices for cloud infrastructure management.
• Observability tooling for production systems (OpenTelemetry, Datadog).
• Experience with LLM/Generative AI infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of platform engineers, balancing people management with technical input.
• Set team strategy and roadmap in partnership with leadership.
• Design and deliver backend/platform services powering AI agent workflows.
• Guide CI/CD and progressive-delivery infrastructure for safe shipping.
• Own cloud infrastructure provisioning and environment configuration (IaC).
• Promote scalable, reliable, and maintainable architecture across microservices.
