Job summary

Refinitiv’s Platform Engineering team builds and operates the core backend systems powering our AI-enabled products. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of platform engineers, guide architecture decisions, and shape the roadmap in partnership with leadership.

You will own people management, drive backend and cloud infrastructure design, and ensure reliability at scale through CI/CD, observability, and best practices. Hybrid work model available for this role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with leadership or people-management.
• Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale backend systems in production.
• Strong Python or equivalent backend language proficiency and distributed systems expertise.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, API design, and AWS/Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own people-management for a team of platform engineers, including hiring and performance reviews.
• Set and communicate team strategy and roadmap with engineering leadership.
• Guide design and delivery of backend and platform services powering AI agent workflows.
• Drive CI/CD and progressive-delivery infrastructure for safe, continuous shipping.
• Maintain cloud infrastructure via Infrastructure‑as‑Code and cloud-native practices.
• Champion scalable, reliable microservices architecture with long-term direction.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives with product, applied-AI, and infra teams.
