Job summary

Reducto is hiring a Head of Platform Engineering in San Francisco to own the platform's reliability and performance. This is a hands-on leadership role; you will code and review with the team while shaping the roadmap, and lead the talent needed to execute it.

You will drive cloud and on‑prem deployments, build observability, own the roadmap, recruit engineers, and collaborate with ML and product teams to scale runtimes and data platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years owning reliability, latency, and efficiency for a large-scale platform.
• Hands-on: write design docs, code, and review your team's code.
• Track record in attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent.
• Excel in fast-moving environments with incomplete details.
• Own roadmap and technical decisions for your team.
• Familiarity with IaC and containerized deployments in production.
• Maintain a high technical bar and apply it to your work.
• Deep curiosity about new tech, stacks, and products.

Responsibilities

• Own the serving platform end to end, including orchestration, pre/post processing, and model inference.
• Define deployment approaches for cloud and on-prem environments.
• Build observability and drive incident response and cost metrics.
• Own the platform roadmap and recruit the platform engineers.
• Collaborate with Product engineering to scale runtimes and environments.
• Build internal data platform for users and customers.
• Roll out new models and deployment capabilities with ML/product teams.
