Job summary

Reducto, Inc. is hiring a Head of Platform Engineering to own the reliability of our scale‑out document platform. You will shape the future direction, build the team, and operate hands‑on in design reviews, coding, and mentoring.

You’ll collaborate with founders, report to the VP of Engineering, and drive critical runtime and deployment decisions. As a hands‑on leader, you’ll ship alongside engineers, set technical standards, and own platform roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 3+ years owning reliability, latency, and efficiency for a platform at scale.
• Hands-on experience with design docs, coding, and code reviews.
• Track record of attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent.
• Ability to navigate fast-moving, ambiguous environments (0 to 1 projects).
• Ownership mindset for roadmap and technical decisions.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and container deployments in production.
• High technical standards and leadership by example.
• Curiosity to learn new technologies, stacks, and products.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform end-to-end: orchestration, pre/post processing, model inference, autoscaling, and throttling.
• Define and deploy how Reducto serves customers on clouds and on-premises environments.
• Develop observability, alerting, incident response, and reliability metrics (cost per document).
• Own the platform road map and recruit the platform engineering team.
• Collaborate with Product engineering to scale agent runtimes and environments.
• Build the internal data platform for internal users and customers.
• Work closely with ML and Product teams to roll out new models and deployment capabilities.
