Job summary

Huron in the United States is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to provide technical leadership for our analytics platform. You will guide a small team to unify a diverse ecosystem of analytics applications and design scalable data pipelines.

The role blends hands-on coding with architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and partnering with data and domain teams to ensure reliable, compliant deployments on AWS.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in data engineering, integration, or infrastructure.
• 2+ years in a technical lead role, mentoring engineers and reviewing designs.
• Proficiency in Python; production-grade code and SQL for large datasets.
• Hands-on AWS experience (compute, storage, data services).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools in a professional context.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly and map complex pipelines.
• Strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for a small platform engineering team.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design feedback.
• Coordinate delivery across distributed contributors and manage risks.
• Remain a hands-on contributor on the most complex integration work.
