Job summary

Ludus, a Michigan‑based SaaS company, is seeking a Platform Engineer to build and maintain scalable infrastructure, optimize performance, and drive reliability across services. The role emphasizes migrations, automation, monitoring, and on-call resilience within a hybrid environment in the Ada office.

You will collaborate with a fast-growing team to enhance redundancy, deploy across Linux, Nginx, Docker, and PHP/Laravel stacks, and shape the future of Ludus’ infrastructure for customers

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with cloud and server technologies.
• 2+ years experience with AWS for infrastructure management.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and deployment strategies for Linux servers and web app deployment.
• Strong understanding of MySQL relational databases, backups, replicas, archiving/partitioning, and performance troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Nginx and PHP environments.
• Understanding of design principles behind scalable applications.
• Hands-on with Docker, Ansible, Cloudflare, and MySQL replication.
• Experience writing secure, well-tested code and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Migrate infrastructure from Digital Ocean to AWS.
• Infrastructure automation and configuration management.
• Manage database integrity and reliability via backups and replicas; monitoring setup.
• Create, architect, monitor, and troubleshoot system infrastructure.
• Develop and provide operational support for full-stack applications.
• Capacity planning, testing, and performance optimization.
• Disaster recovery, incident response and on-call planning.
• Release management and deployment automation.
• Ensure network and server security across systems.
• Improve observability and alerting with CloudWatch and other tools.
• Triage infra-related incidents and participate in on-call rotation.
