Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Platform Engineer II to join the GKOP Platform team and help scale our OpenShift platform. You’ll work across multiple regions to manage clusters, implement IaC and GitOps, and automate operations with Kubernetes operators.

The role emphasizes observability, container security, and incident response, with a hybrid work model in the U.S. Offices include Cincinnati, Atlanta, Jacksonville, and Denver. VISA sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline plus 5+ years of experience.
• Solid experience managing container orchestration technologies in production (OpenShift, Kubernetes).
• Strong background with containers and immutable infrastructure.
• Extensive experience working in AWS.
• Knowledge of Python or Golang.
• Experience with GitOps deployment tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Multi‑region OpenShift platform operations — manage 25+ clusters across six AWS regions.
• Infrastructure as Code & GitOps — declarative infrastructure using Kubernetes manifests.
• Kubernetes Operators & automation — build or integrate operators to reduce toil.
• Observability & platform health — monitor, alert, and log across the platform.
• Container security & compliance — maintain security controls for payment services.
• Incident response & Troubleshooting — debug platform issues across the fleet.
