Samaritan's Purse in Boone, NC is seeking a Platform Engineer to join the Information Technology team on-site. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and securing scalable cloud infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments to support ministry systems.

You will automate provisioning with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible, implement CI workflows, monitor platforms and security controls, and collaborate with Platform, Security, and Systems Administration teams to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or certificate in a related field with 5–7 years in DevOps/Platform Engineering, or 7+ years in IT.
• Strong Linux administration and infrastructure automation experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Bash/PowerShell/Python.
• Known virtualization/containerization tech: VMware/oVirt/Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes; firewall/network segmentation knowledge.
• Experience with security and observability tools including ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, CollectD.
• 12 credit hours of Biblical Studies (required), with possible on-hire completion.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and optimize secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across on-prem and off-prem environments.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible with CI workflows.
• Monitor cloud platforms, servers, networks, and security controls; troubleshoot with Platform/Security teams.
• Collaborate with management and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and allocate resources.
• Maintain standards and cost/operational impact assessments for changes.
