Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join the Information Technology team in Charlotte, NC (onsite). You will build and optimize private cloud infrastructure, automate delivery, and manage Kubernetes clusters to support ministry-critical workloads.

The role requires 5–7 years in Cloud Engineering, strong Linux skills, and experience with IaC, CI/CD, and cloud platforms. On-site location includes multiple North American sites and English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or university program certificate in a related field plus 5–7 years of Cloud Engineering experience, or 7+ years of related experience.
• Proven experience in cloud infrastructure engineering with focus on platform operations and automation.
• Hands-on experience administering Kubernetes in production; Linux troubleshooting; OpenStack and Ceph a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
• Build, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable private cloud infrastructure and platform services for ministry-critical workloads.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and application delivery using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, AI tools, and modern engineering practices.
• Manage lifecycles of Kubernetes clusters, open-source storage, and supporting cloud technologies including configuration, upgrades, patching, monitoring, and capacity optimization.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, and participate in incident response and root-cause analysis for long-term remediation.
• Collaborate with teams, stakeholders, and vendors to evaluate emerging technologies, optimize cloud resource usage and costs, and develop tooling and documentation.
