Job summary

Johnsonville is seeking an IT Platform Solutions Engineer to configure and maintain our IT platforms and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize infrastructure while focusing on reliability, performance, and security.

The role emphasizes automation, observability, and secure‑by‑design practices, plus on‑call support and travel as needed. A background in computer science or engineering and at least five years of platform experience are expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of direct IT/platform solutions experience with configuration and deployment.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and platform security.

Responsibilities

Configure, deploy, and maintain IT platforms in collaboration with cloud admins and architects.
Implement and optimize hardware and software configurations for performance and scalability.
Develop observability solutions (metrics, logs, traces) to monitor system health.
Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot, and remediate platform issues.
Embed security as a reliability concern through secure‑by‑design practices.
Automate provisioning, configuration, and routine tasks.
Maintain configuration management and ensure repeatability across environments.
Create documentation for configurations and procedures.
Respond to platform incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
