Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer, Platform in San Antonio, TX to design, build, and own the backend APIs powering payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics across web and apps.

The ideal candidate has proven TS/Node experience and cloud knowledge (GCP preferred) with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments, plus a drive to automate and improve reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Ability to automate and optimize systems and deployments
• Experience with logs, metrics, and observability to ensure reliability

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own backend APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics
• Improve efficiency of services, making them faster and cheaper
• Ensure correctness through testing and instrumentation before shipping
• Automate repetitive tasks; scale systems for growth
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to align backend architecture
