Speechify seeks a Software Engineer for Platform to own core backend APIs and services in a distributed, cloud-first stack. You’ll work on payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API, ensuring correctness across multiple clients and app-store systems.

The role emphasizes automation, reliability, and cross-team collaboration in a fully remote environment. Ideal candidates have strong TS/Node backend experience, cloud familiarity (GCP preferred, with AWS/Azure

Qualifications

Proven backend experience in TS/Node (required).
Direct experience with GCP; working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or another cloud.
Habit of giving away work you used to own, and something to show for the room it created.
Daily working setup with AI agents you can describe in detail.
Instinct to check results against logs, database state, and the actual request.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
Improve services you didn’t write to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
Validate changes before shipping and build durable checks.
Automate repetitive parts of your role to free up time for higher-impact work.
Turn one-off work into repeatable capabilities for the team.
Design B2B and enterprise integrations on top of Speechify.
Collaborate with product, mobile, and web to keep backend architecture ahead of the product.
