Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer for the Platform team to design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and the public TTS API. You will support millions of users across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and web in a distributed environment.

Work involves making services faster, cheaper, and harder to break, while ensuring correctness across clients and building automated, reusable solutions for the team.

• Experience designing scalable backend APIs.
• Strong understanding of reliability and latency considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and our public TTS API.
• Improve services you didn’t write to be faster, cheaper, and harder to break.
• Ensure correctness before shipping and build tests/guards to keep it right.
• Automate repetitive parts of the role to free up time for bigger bets.
• Create reusable work that the team can repeat and leverage across projects.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers building on Speechify.
