Speechify is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and the TTS platform.

You will optimize and scale services across cloud providers, automate repetitive work, and collaborate with product and frontend teams to stay ahead of product needs.

Qualifications

• Proficient backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or another cloud.
• Ability to automate and document repetitive tasks.
• Strong focus on logs, metrics, and system state for correctness.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and the public TTS API.
• Improve services you inherit to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Ensure correctness before shipping and build maintainable checks.
