Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Platform Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust backend APIs powering our TTS, payments, analytics, and subscriptions. You will shape the API landscape, improve performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fully distributed environment.

The ideal candidate has strong TS/Node experience, deep cloud knowledge (GCP; AWS/Azure a plus), and comfort deploying with Docker and Kubernetes in scalable, high-availability systems.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience using TS/Node.
• Experience with GCP and familiarity with AWS/Azure.
• Ability to prioritize tasks by urgency and impact.
• Preferred: Docker container deployments.
• Preferred: Kubernetes deployments and HA design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public and internal services.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on enterprise client integrations and customization.
• Align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
