Job summary

Speechify, a fully distributed company with no offices, is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable APIs powering payments, analytics, subscriptions, and TTS. You will drive backend strategy, ensure high performance, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver delightful user experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS/Azure.
• Docker and containerized deployments preferred.
• Kubernetes deployment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions for enterprise clients and integrations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
