Job summary

Speechify, a leader in text-to-speech technology, seeks a backend engineer to design and maintain APIs across payments, analytics, subscriptions, and TTS services. You will own scalable backend components and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architecture with product goals.

The role emphasizes strategic thinking, fast-paced delivery, and delivering delightful user experiences, in a distributed, office-free environment with opportunities to impact a product used by millions.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TS/Node (required).
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Efficient ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks by urgency and impact.
• Preferred: Docker experience.
• Preferred: Kubernetes experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, improving performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions focusing on customization and integration for enterprise clients.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
• Participate in the interview process and contribute to rapid, high-quality delivery.
