Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a hands-on leader to own the end-to-end architecture of a fleet-scale humanoid-robot SaaS platform. Reporting to the CTO, you will set the foundation and grow a software platform team from ~10 to 15+ engineers.

You will bridge distributed cloud systems, edge computing, and physical AI, architecting robot connectivity, fleet management, AI capabilities, data pipelines, and model workflows while upholding safe guardrails for real robots.

Qualifications

8+ years of software architecture experience at hardware/IoT or connected-device companies.
End-to-end platform architecture across edge, cloud, and frontend.
Hands-on coding experience in production environments.
Experience with distributed systems and real-time communication patterns (WebSockets, gRPC, pub/sub).
Familiarity with data pipelines and fleet management at scale.
US work authorization; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Design and own the full platform architecture for robot connectivity, fleet management, AI, data pipelines, and model training workflows.
Set technical direction across frontend, backend, robot-side, and infrastructure as the team scales.
Contribute hands-on coding during early phases to establish foundational abstractions.
Architect safe integration of AI agent capabilities (chatbot, planning) with guardrails for physical robots.
Grow and lead the software platform team, establishing engineering standards and architecture reviews.
