Job summary

RR Donnelley (RRD) is seeking a 1st shift platemaking operator to prepare plates for press. You will handle image imposition, maintain documentation, and perform light maintenance on equipment in a fast-paced print environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year in print/graphic design, and proficiency with Mac/PC design software, including Adobe Creative Suite and imposition tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of print or graphic design experience.
• Must be able to work with various graphic design and layout software on Mac and PC.
• Advanced color management skills preferred.
• Must understand digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) across Mac/PC.
• Experience with imposition software (Mac) and Adobe Creative Suite (PC) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Impose images and operate plate making, bending/tabbing, and sheering equipment to prepare plates for press.
• Review images produced on plates for defects or errors.
• Maintain production documentation.
• Carry out physical creation of flexographic and/or lithographic plates.
• Replenish materials in automatic plate processors and perform routine light maintenance.
