Job summary

Kistler Instrument Corp. in Novi, MI, is seeking a Sales and Application Engineer – Plastics for the Midwest region. The role focuses on achieving sales goals for plastics vision inspection products.

You will respond to technical inquiries, advise on applications, develop sales strategies with the Sales Manager, and travel up to 50% to OEMs and processors across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and parts of Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 2–3 years plastics sales or process engineering experience
• Or an associate degree with 3 years plastics sales engineer or process technician experience
• Experience applying pressure sensors, electronics, and software
• Controls of plastics processing equipment to measure, evaluate and control machine function
• Engineering design knowledge; tool design is a plus
• Good written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical, price, delivery, and service inquiries
• Advise on applications of plastics vision inspection products
• Develop and implement a sales strategy with the Sales Manager
• Identify OEMs and plastics processors and coordinate with the Sales Manager
• Identify market requirements and coordinate with Application Experts on solutions
• Maintain knowledge of new and existing products and applications
• Assist in preparing special project proposals
• Coordinate commitments with internal departments
