Job summary

Novolex is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee machinery and equipment across a plastics manufacturing facility in the Roanoke region. The role requires leading a team of technicians, planning preventive maintenance, and coordinating with production for minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate has a 5+ year track record in maintenance management within plastics manufacturing, with strong leadership, safety, and CMMS skills to optimize reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of maintenance management experience in plastics manufacturing or similar.
• Strong knowledge of plastics manufacturing machinery (extruders, injection molding, conveyors).
• Proven leadership and ability to motivate a team of technicians.
• Expertise in maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and reliability-centered maintenance.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and industrial practices.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficient with CMMS and related software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for machinery and equipment.
• Lead a team of maintenance technicians with guidance, training, and support.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and improvement areas.
• Plan preventive maintenance tasks, repairs, and upgrades to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with production teams to prioritize activities and minimize disruption.
• Monitor equipment performance, analyze data, and drive reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with external vendors for specialized repairs or installations.
• Manage maintenance budget and procurement of parts and supplies.
• Ensure safety compliance and promote a safety culture in the facility.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and inventory history.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
