Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer to improve equipment reliability, asset availability, and plant performance at the Roanoke Rapids facility. You will lead reliability initiatives, implement predictive and preventive maintenance, and partner with maintenance and production teams to reduce downtime.

The role requires a technical degree and 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, with strong data analysis skills and CMMS experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or reliability engineering.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making.
• Experience with CMMS and preventive/predictive maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability projects to improve equipment uptime and reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs aligned with plant goals.
• Serve as site SME for equipment reliability and coordinate with vendors.
• Coach and mentor maintenance teams to achieve performance excellence.
