Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an experienced APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Georgia. The role spans ambulatory management, first assist in the operating room, and inpatient care for a multi-specialty plastic surgery team.

The position requires NP Master’s Degree with ANCC or PA certification and GA licensure, plus BLS and full credentialing.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree in Nursing; ANCC certification or licensed as an advanced practice nurse in GA; BLS; credentialed by credentialing office.
• Physician's Assistant: Graduate from an accredited PA program; NCCPA certification; GA licensure; CME/recert requirements; BLS; credentialed by credentialing office.

Responsibilities

• Practice as stand-alone provider by managing weekly clinic.
• Examine patients and diagnose to determine need for surgery.
• Review patient medical history and plan the best procedure in consultation with physician lead.
• Complete all preparatory steps for surgery including informed consent and scheduling coordination.
• Perform postoperative visits for select patients as directed by the surgeon.
• Perform ambulatory procedures for wound care, cosmetics and excisional biopsies.
• First assist in the operating room.
• Promote activities and programs for the Plastics clinic and provide educational materials.
