Description

The Plastic Operator will be responsible for the overall operating performance of various plastic injection molding machines within the facility. The operator will ensure that machines operate safely. The machines used include Spin Welder, Injection Machines, and Material handling.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting; plastics industry experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

While performing duties, the employee is frequently exposed to loud noise levels; personal protective equipment such as ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes are required. The position involves constant standing, walking, bending, and moving between machines. Ability to lift/move items up to 10 pounds is necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain regular attendance per Lone Star Reel standards, with schedule varying as needed.
• Follow all company and department procedures and policies.
• Report emergencies and unusual situations immediately.
• Set up and operate machines based on work orders and supervisor instructions.
• Inspect products for defects and machines for malfunctions.
• Maintain a safe, clean workspace and follow safety protocols, including OSHA standards.
• Create reels with quality parts, meet production goals, and ensure quality control.
• Report issues with parts or materials to the Lead or Supervisor.
• Stack pallets correctly, count accurately, and test parts to ensure quality.
• Handle pallet wrapping, labeling, and material replenishment.
• Ensure continuous supply of materials for welders and injection machines.
• Load and unload trailers, and assist with other duties as needed.
