Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a Phlebotomist to support plasma collection via pheresis, donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect procedures. You will ensure donor safety and adhere to SOPs and FDA guidelines while maintaining a positive donor experience.

Responsibilities include performing venipuncture, monitoring vein performance, documenting process data in the PDA and donor information system, and assisting with equipment maintenance and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; CSL DST training preferred for internal applicants.
• External candidates: minimum 6 months as phlebotomist; 12 months in medical setting.
• Ability to follow SOPs and maintain donor safety with accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedures including donor setup, monitoring and disconnect.
• Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis according to FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate vein performance and adjust to ensure donor safety and efficiency.
• Educate donors about the process, policies, and conditions relevant to donation.
• Monitor for donor reactions and assist or escalate as needed.
• Record incidents and donor data in the PDA and donor information system.
• Calibrate and verify maintenance; respond to alarms and equipment issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and replace components as required.
• Maintain donor flow on the floor and inform supervisors of issues.
• Collect arm or blood samples for testing.
• Maintain a clean work area and ensure supplies; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Protect donor, personnel, and center confidentiality.
• May cross-train in other areas to support center needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, if needed by the organization.
