Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking a plasmapheresis technician to execute venipunctures and manage plasma collection with strict adherence to SOPs, CLIA, OSHA, and GMP guidelines.

You will ensure donor safety and comfort while maintaining accurate records and machine performance. The role requires strong customer service, teamwork, and the ability to work day/evening shifts, including weekends, with responsibilities spanning setup, operation, maintenance, and training of staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent (GED).
• Three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently.
• Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute plasmapheresis procedures and venipunctures.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).
• Provide high levels of donor service and maintain donor confidentiality.
• Set up equipment and disposables for venipuncture and plasmapheresis; label units accurately.
• Operate plasmapheresis machines, respond to alarms, troubleshoot, and document exceptions.
• Perform routine calibration/maintenance and remove/replace equipment as needed.
• Maintain thorough documentation including machine logs.
• Mentor and train team members as a Designated Trainer to improve training efficiency.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance on donor floor performance and CAPAs.
