Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking a plasmapheresis technician to perform venipunctures and collect plasma according to FDA SOPs and CLIA standards. You will ensure donor safety, document procedures, and maintain accurate logs in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires attention to safety, strong customer service, and the ability to manage equipment alarms, calibrations, and daily maintenance. Day and evening shifts, with travel up to 20% if needed, are possible.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3 months’ experience in a medical or health care environment preferred.
• Completed training documentation prior to performing duties independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).
• Maintain a high level of customer service and positive donor experience.
• Stock and replenish supplies to meet production needs and keep a clean work environment.
• Review donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality per SOPs.
• Set up and prepare equipment and disposables; label units and samples accurately.
• Execute venipunctures and plasma collection with high quality and safety.
• Operate plasmapheresis machines; monitor alarms and donor safety.
• Monitor donor conditions and ensure donor comfort and plasma quality.
• Dispose of biohazard waste per safety protocols and maintain logs.
• Calibrate and maintain plasmapheresis machines; remove/replace equipment as needed.
• Maintain thorough documentation including machine logs; report unsafe conditions.
• Drive training efficiencies and troubleshoot machine alarms/QA.
