Job summary

CSL is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the donor area for pheresis procedures in a clinical setting. You will monitor the donor during the procedure, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor when complete, ensuring safety and data accuracy.

Responsibilities include logging incidents with the PDA, linking equipment to donors, notifying supervisors of flow issues, and maintaining confidentiality and adherence to HSE/OSHA policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 months’ work experience in medical/health provider environment preferred.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain awareness of donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents and equipment data using the PDA.
• Link equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic system.
• Adhere to HSE/OSHA policies and maintain confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
