Job summary

CSL is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and to provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. The role includes interviewing donors, reviewing medical histories, and ensuring proper donor safety per SOPs.

The position requires healthcare licensure, one year of healthcare experience, and familiarity with plasma collection environments. Candidates with plasma center experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic training program.
• Foreign medical graduates must be licensed as a physician or certified as an EMT in NY.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection centers preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments (heart, lungs, signs of drug use).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical situations to physicians.
• Refer donors to community facilities for follow-up when needed.
