Job summary

CSL is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, interview donors, and perform medical history reviews while providing limited emergency medical care. You will ensure donor safety and compliance under supervision.

Additionally, you will review test results, counsel on reactive findings, follow SOPs, and escalate critical cases to a Center Physician or local providers as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also be licensed as a physician or state EMT certification.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess heart and lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff per licensure.
• Interview donors and review medical history to determine donation suitability.
• Respond to donor questions and provide information on donor suitability.
• Review test results and assess continued donor suitability; monitor for symptoms affecting donation.
• Counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical cases to physicians as required.
