Job summary

CSL in the United States is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. Qualifications

• Must have graduation from paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also be licensed as a physician or state EMT certification.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medications or treatments per licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability and answer staff medical questions.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive results and refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical medical situations as required.

Education

Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program

Licensed or certified RN/MD/DO (NY) or reciprocal state
