Job summary

CSL Plasma in East Providence, RI is seeking a qualified professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, administer immunizations, and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will conduct donor interviews, review screening results, and counsel donors on reactive test results while maintaining strict confidentiality and safety compliance.

The role requires active state licensure or foreign medical qualification and at least one year in a healthcare

Qualifications

• Active state licensure from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school is required, OR foreign medical degree with active license/EMT certification.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or clinical experience from vocational/nursing program.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments of heart and lung sounds; assess signs of drug use.
• Ability to instruct donors and staff about the benefits of plasma donation programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer and supervise approved immunizations other than red blood cell immunizations.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Promote positive donor relations.
• Conduct confidential donor interviews to assess suitability for donation.
• Respond to medically related questions with Center Medical Director/Physician.
• Review test results and donor screening to determine continued suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results.
• Explain informed consent to donors, including procedure risks and immunization details.
• Handle medical emergencies and maintain SOPs; ensure emergency kits are in date.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information system.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education
