Job summary

CSL Vifor operates a plasma center and seeks a medically licensed professional to evaluate donor suitability for pheresis procedures and administer approved immunizations. The role includes providing limited emergency care and maintaining donor safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include conducting donor interviews, responding to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director, and ensuring accurate recording of donor data in the information system.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training program or medical school is required.
• Completion of a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school and only if also currently licensed as a physician or EMT in the state.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or one year of clinical experience from a vocational or nursing institution.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess physical heart, lung sounds and signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and supervise immunizations as applicable.
• Promote positive donor relations.
• Conduct confidential donor interviews to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• Assist Center Medical Director in medical questions and provide information to staff on medically related issues.
• Review donor screening results and laboratory tests to determine ongoing suitability.
