Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, provide limited emergency medical care, and review medical histories. The role involves interviewing donors, interpreting test results, and escalating complex cases to the Center Medical Director.

Responsibilities include counseling donors with reactive results, referring for follow-up, and ensuring adherence to SOPs in a regulated plasma collection setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical program.
• Current licensure/certification required if graduation from foreign medical school (state physician license or EMT certification).
• Minimum of one year of experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in plasma or whole blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments such as heart and lung sounds and assess signs of drug use.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability and questions.
• Review test results and assess donor continuity; flag potential inability to donate.
• Counsel donors regarding reactive tests and refer for follow-up.
• Follow SOPs and escalate critical medical situations to physicians as required.
