Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. The role includes interviewing donors, administering immunizations, and counseling on test results and immunization schedules.

You will work with the Center Medical Director to answer medical questions, assess donor health, and ensure compliance with SOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure in paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, naturopathic training or medical school; or foreign medical degree plus current license or EMT certification.
• Minimum of one year experience in a health care environment or clinical experience from a vocational or nursing program.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to assess physical signs (heart, lungs, drug use) and determine donor suitability.
• Ability to educate and instruct donors, staff and community regarding plasma donation benefits.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Administer and supervise approved immunizations; provide limited emergency medical care.
• Promote positive customer relations with all donors.
• Conduct confidential interviews to determine donor suitability.
• Respond to medically related questions in collaboration with the Center Medical Director/Physician.
• Review donor screening results to determine continued suitability.
• Explain informed consent and immunization schedules to donors.
