Job summary

Qualifications

  • Degree or training in paramedicine, nursing, PA, chiropractic, or medical school.
  • Foreign medical graduates must hold a physician license or EMT certification.
  • For NY, current RN/MD/DO licensure or reciprocal licensure.
  • At least 1 year of healthcare experience.
  • Experience in plasma or whole blood centers preferred.
  • Ability to perform and interpret physical assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
  • Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
  • Interview donors and perform medical history reviews.
  • Respond to donor questions and provide information on suitability.
  • Review test results and assess donor eligibility to continue donation.
  • Notify and counsels donors on reactive tests; refer to facilities for follow-up.
  • Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical cases to Center Physician.
