Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Indiana seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations, determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage donor reactions, and notify donors of unsuitable results.

Under Center Manager and Center Physician guidance, you will ensure donor safety, participate in vaccination programs, and help maintain regulatory compliance within the plasma collection setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program (state requirements).
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, and donor history review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER as needed.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations.
