Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results.

Responsibilities include evaluating donor reactions, following SOPs for emergencies, coordinating with the Center Physician, and supporting employee vaccination programs. Clinical experience and state licensure are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I or EMT-P in the state of responsibilities.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent and medical history.
• Evaluate donor reactions and review lab results (SPE).
• Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and donor transport.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical/technical issues.
• Support vaccination programs for employees and manage incidents per EHS guidance.
