Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor eligibility, monitor adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests. The role operates under the Center Manager and Center Physician, with guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and EHS protocols.

Responsibilities include managing donor safety, following SOPs for emergencies, and supporting vaccination programs while adhering to plasma collection regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of accredited nursing program preferred.
• Current licensure in state of responsibility: EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• CPR and AED certification required; basic IV therapy prerequisites per state.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, and screening tests.
• Assess donor reactions and provide medical guidance per SOPs; arrange transport for emergencies.
• Refer complex medical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu) for staff; assist with EHS-related duties.
