Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Lafayette, LA. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review test results, and assist in coordinating medical issues under center physician guidance.

Role requires EMT-Paramedic licensure, CPR/AED certification, and bedside clinical experience. You will work under the Center Manager and may participate in vaccination programs and EHS matters.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate nursing program.
• Licensed/certified EMT-Paramedic in the responsible state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, and proper examination and testing procedures.
• Evaluate donor reactions and medical emergencies per SOPs, with transport to care facilities as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS guidance.
• Potential to serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.

Education
