Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Baton Rouge seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to support plasma center operations.

A valid LPN/LVN license, CPR/AED, and FDA training are required, with at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Determines donor eligibility including informed consent and eligibility requirements.
• Evaluates donor reactions and follows SOPs for emergencies.
• Reviews lab test results and notifies donors of unsuitable results.
• Coordinates with Center Physician and Medical Affairs for medical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility and informed consent processes.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues.
• Support vaccination programs for employees (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu).
• Manage occupational health incidents and coordinate with EHS guidance.
