Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, and assist with medical issues under the Center Manager’s guidance.

The role requires state licensure as EMT-Paramedic, CPR/AED certification, and clinical experience. You will participate in safety programs and regulatory compliance at the Humble Plasma Center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program graduate.
• Licensed or certified EMT-Paramedic in the state of responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidentiality, medical history, physical exam and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance and Occupational Health/ER.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program

EMT-Paramedic license (state-licensed)

Current CPR and AED certification

Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy

FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist

Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
