Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Fresno is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review SPE/lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable results, under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

You will also support vaccination programs, incident reviews, and EHS-related duties as applicable, ensuring compliance with plasma collection regulations and BioLife standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid RN/NP/PA licensure in the state of assignment.
• Two years of clinical experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Completion of FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies following SOPs and Center Physician standing orders.
• Review laboratory test results and communicate unsuitability to donors.
• Provide center-level guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed; may act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
