Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Stockton, CA to support plasma center operations and donor care.

You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety events, review lab results, and coordinate with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs. This on-site role requires nursing licensure (RN/NP/PA), CPR/AED and two years clinical experience, with FDA training for BioLife. Takeda advances patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state: RN/NP/PA.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state IV therapy requirements.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER and EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
