Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Sacramento, CA seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results under the Center Manager and Center Physician supervision.

The role requires state-registered clinical licensure (EMT, RN/LPN/LVN) and CPR/AED certification, with at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including nursing program equivalency.
• State licensure/certification as EMTs or RN/LPN/LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certifications.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete BioLife Medical Support Specialist FDA training.
• At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent and medical history.
• Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results.
• Notify donors of unsuitable test results.
• Support center-level environmental, health and safety guidance.
• Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and donor transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues.
• Support employee Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs.
• Assist with incident reporting and occupational health guidance.
