Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; arrange donor transport if needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues and donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; consult EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
