Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist at the Bloomington, IN location to support plasma center operations and donor safety. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliant donor screening, adverse event handling, and medical guidance within regulatory requirements.

The role requires clinical experience, state nursing licensure or EMT certification, and CPR/AED.

Qualifications

• Must hold EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P or RN/LPN/LVN license in the responsibility state
• CPR and AED certification currently valid
• Fulfill state IV therapy requirements
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and demographic checks
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or guidance
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage employee incidents and assess need for occupational health evaluation
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations as needed
