Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Bloomington, Indiana is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations and ensure donor safety.

You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, manage adverse events, and coordinate with the Center Physician. Clinical experience and state licensure are required, along with CPR/AED certification and FDA training. This role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Current EMT-B/A/I/P license and/or LPN/LVN or RN license.
• CPR and AED certification in good standing.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview and acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical issues or guidance as needed.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and assist investigations when required.

Education

EMT-B / EMT-A / EMT-I / EMT-P license

LPN/LVN license

RN license
