Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Waterloo, IA, is seeking a part-time Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to ensure donor eligibility, monitor reactions, and provide center-level medical support. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance and participate in vaccination programs and incident reporting.

Requirements include an LPN/LVN license, CPR/AED certification, and 2 years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• CPR and AED certification required.
• Current LPN/LVN license or certification in the practice state.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting for relevant experience.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical examination, and lab review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
