Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Waite Park, MN, is hiring a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including a recognized nursing program graduate equivalency.
• Licensed in state for EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P or RN/LPN/LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, and review of SPE results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and medical emergencies per SOPs and coordinate with Center Physician for standing orders and donor transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and follow EHS guidance; act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
